No one is great at anything from the start.
It’s going to be messy. It’s going to take courage and commitment.... and yeah, you’re probably gonna suck at it at first. So why not just get the beginning part over with?
So let’s talk about it.
“Perfection is the enemy of good.”
Do you ever have an idea or a motivation to start something new but find yourself paralyzed to try it? Do you feel you must be “perfect” to pursue it?
Screw the notion that perfect is attainable – perfection is an illusion!
Here’s the thing: You are positioned perfectly to go for it. You might find yourself expending more mental energy on planning than on executing as you wait for the notion to be “perfect”—a standard that neither your ideas nor you can meet.
So, HOW can you overcome the belief that perfection is a prerequisite for making any progress?
This concept is applicable to many, if not all, pursuits; whether starting a business, embarking on a new nutrition plan, adopting a fitness regimen, or exploring a new hobby.
You have to be dedicated to paying close attention to your mindset, because this is your superpower. Practice these mantras instead of letting your mind run away with the idea that you need to be anything different than who you are.
Mantras To Stay Encouraged While You Take BOLD Action:
· I am continuously evolving.
· The mistakes I make in learning are not failures; they are valuable lessons for future endeavors.
· Each day I show up for myself is a signal to my brain that this is important to me (even when I show up imperfectly).
· I am learning more about myself with every attempt at success, which raises my baseline. I’ll never be the same again.
· Slow progress is better than no progress.
· I am in charge of my own life experience.
Finally, reflect on your motivation for wanting to take action. Is this idea something you truly believe in, or is it merely a passing thought? Understanding your underlying motivation can provide the clarity needed to move forward.
Remember: Action creates clarity.
Time to bet on yourself!
Keep shining!
